So you want to learn how to surf? Good, you’ve come to the right place. The instructors at our Tarifa Surf School have many years of experience, and a life of surfing passion to share with you. We tailor all our surfing lessons Tarifa specifically for you, taking into account your experience, fitness, age and adventurousness.
Similar to the methodology in how we teach kitesurfing, our surfing instructors cater the lesson to your learning type personality.
For beginners we use Soft Surf Boards, which offer an easier, more floatable board to learn on and a more comfortable ride for when you fall or tumble. For advanced surfing lessons you have the options for smaller higher performance traditional surfers board.
You’ll learn to ride a board, read the waves and surf like a pro.
KITESURFING CAPITAL OF EUROPE
Tarifa is a fantastic place to learn to kitesurf.
Our unique location on the Strait of Gibraltar means it’s almost always windy in Tarifa.
The presence of the Sea Angels rescue boats on the main kite beach at Los Lances mean that every wind direction is kiteable here. Check out all the Kite Spots in and near Tarifa!
The tidal lagoons at Los Lances and Valdevaqueros are ideal spots to practice your first board starts. Don’t worry about being dragged around by waves or getting a mouthful of salt water!
There are more sheltered beaches at: Bolonia, Palmones and Los Canos de Meca!
When the wind is too strong in Tarifa there are plenty of options only a short drive away.
The consistent wind and variety of spots on offer are the reason that Tarifa is the kitesurfing capital of Europe. If you learn to kitesurf here you can kitesurf confidently anywhere.
Tarifa is probably the best place in the world to learn to be an independent kite surfer.
